A pochissime ore dall’uscita de “In The Lonely Hour – 10th Anniversary Edition” riedizione dell’album di debutto pubblicato nel 2014, Sam Smith annuncia tra gli ospiti Alicia Keys
Sui social l‘artista britannico ha dichiarato sulla partecipazione della cantautrice di New York: “Sono onorato di avere un talento incredibile ed una bellissima anima che si unirà a me per celebrare i dieci anni di I’m Not The Only One. Sarà rilasciata questo venerdì con la versione digitale di In The Lonely Hour – 10th Anniversary Edition. Il brano è stato pubblicato come terzo singolo nel Regno Unito dell’album di debutto il 31 agosto 2014 a seguito del successo di Stay With Me e Money On My Mind.

Sam Smith ed Alicia Keys si sono esibiti proprio sulle note di I’m Not The Only One lo scorso luglio al gay bar Julius di New York con la cantautrice che ha accompagnato al tempo stesso al piano l’interprete britannico. Il 32enne riguardo la collaborazione ha dichiarato: “È un sogno che si avvera”, mentre la Keys ha risposto: “È meraviglioso…Ci credete che non l’avevamo mai suonata prima? È una follia” . Nella tracklist di “In The Lonely Hour”, album che nel 2014 ha venduto 1 milione di copie in UK e negli Usa, (dove ha raggiunto il secondo posto della Billboard 200) figurano anche altri importanti feat con Mary J Blige, A$ap Rocky e John Legend.

The original song appears on Smith’s 2014 debut studio album, ‘In The Lonely Hour’. A 10th anniversary edition of the record is due for release tomorrow (August 2), containing a re-recording of ‘Stay With Me’.
Taking to social media, Smith confirmed that the collection will also include a fresh, collaborative take on ‘I’m Not The Only One’. They revealed that it will feature “the truly incomparable” Keys.
“I am so honoured to have such an incredible talent and a beautiful soul join me on this track to celebrate a decade of ‘In The Lonely Hour’. Released with the digital versions of ‘In The Lonely Hour (10th Anniversary Edition)’ this Friday,” Smith continued.
Smith and Keys teamed up for a live duet of ‘I’m Not The Only One’ at NYC’s gay bar Julius’ last month. At the time, Smith said the collaboration was “a dream come true”.
Keys responded: “This is amazing. Can you believe we never did this before? Except for right now? That’s crazy!”
The original recording of ‘I’m Not The Only One’ was released as a single, and reached Number Three in the UK. ‘In The Lonely Hour’ made Smith the only artist to sell one million albums in the US and UK in 2014.
