Sono state annunciate le candidature per l’Humanitas Prize 2026, premio che celebra gli sceneggiatori di cinema e televisione per opere capaci di esplorare la condizione umana. KPop Demon Hunters —che ha dato vita a una colonna sonora capace di raggiungere la vetta della classifica Billboard 200— concorre nella categoria dedicata ai lungometraggi per famiglie, insieme a Elio, Grow e Hoppers.

Song Sung Blue, il dramma incentrato su un imitatore di Neil Diamond e sulla moglie —vittima di un incidente che le cambierà la vita—, è candidato nella categoria lungometraggi drammatici. La sceneggiatura del film è firmata da Craig Brewer. La pellicola ha inoltre regalato a Kate Hudson una candidatura all’Oscar come miglior attrice. Gli altri titoli in lizza nella stessa categoria sono All That’s Left of You, Preparation for the Next Life e Train Dreams.

L’intento degli Humanitas Prize

Dal 1974, gli Humanitas Prize vengono assegnati a sceneggiatori cinematografici e televisivi “il cui lavoro esplora la condizione umana in modo sfaccettato e significativo”, come indicato sul sito web dell’organizzazione. Tra i vincitori delle passate edizioni figurano All in the Family, ER, Hidden Figures, black-ish, Encanto, Will Hunting – Genio ribelle, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Hacks, The Bernie Mac Show e NYPD – New York Police Department.

La cerimonia di premiazione di quest’anno si terrà il 9 settembre presso l’Avalon Hollywood e sarà condotta dalla sceneggiatrice e comica Ashley Nicole Black. Winnie Holzman, creatrice di My So-Called Life e co-autrice di Wicked, riceverà il Kieser Award, riconoscimento destinato agli sceneggiatori che hanno dedicato la propria opera a storie capaci di celebrare l’umanità che ci accomuna.
