The Substance”, “Conclave” e “Wicked” sono tra i film nominati dall’Art Directors Guild per la 28a edizione degli Excellence in Production Design Awards nelle categorie cinematografiche, televisive, pubblicitarie e video musicali. L’ADG divide i lungometraggi live-action in tre categorie: lungometraggio in costume, lungometraggio fantasy e lungometraggio contemporaneo. A Complete Unknown, The Brutalist, Il Gladiatore II, Nosferatu e Saturday Night sono stati nominati nella categoria lungometraggio in costume. Nella categoria film fantasy, Alien: Romulus, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Dune: Parte Due, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga e Wicked hanno tutti ottenuto delle candidature. Civil War, Conclave, Emilia Pérez e The Substance e Twisters hanno ottenuto delle candidature per i film contemporanei.
Sebbene sia difficile usare i vincitori dell’ADG come precursori degli Academy Awards, il vincitore dell’anno scorso Poor Things ha vinto l’Oscar. In precedenza, i vincitori del 2023 Dune hanno vinto anche l’Oscar per la scenografia. “I candidati di quest’anno mettono in mostra l’incredibile arte e la visione che definiscono il nostro mestiere e il nostro settore.
